Lawyers in the Constitutional Convention:
Profiles of the Great Figures of Law and Philosophy of Law Who Became the Architects of America from the editors of Old Masters International P
In the great task of nation building, lawyers were then, as they had been before, and have been since, the constructive architects of the governmental structure. Of the state papers of the first Continental Congress, Lord Chatham declared them unsurpassed. Lawyers made up more than half the Constitutional Convention, and, of its fifty-five members, thirty-nine had been members of the first or second Continental Congress. It may, therefore, safely be assumed that lawyers played a substantial part in the proceedings of that first Congress from which emanated those remarkable documents which Chatham praised so highly; and of the fifty-six signers of the Declaration of Independence, including its author Jefferson. Featuring excerpts from the writing of thirty of the most prominent lawyers at the Convention, beautifully written critical biographical profiles by great scholars of yester-decade and century, and with accompanying illustrative portraiture done in a classical "Old Masters" tradition by an acclaimed Milanese artist himself descended from the "founding families" of Lombardy. Apprx. 150 to 190 pages per volume, each measuring 10.3 in x 6.5 in. $450.00 for the six-volume series. Please click here for more content description.. |

The Art of the Art of War
from the editors of Old Masters International
Some of the greatest artists in the history of painting were equally brilliant as engineers, and among them designers of superlative weaponry that changed the course of military history. Leonardo da Vinci, Hans Holbein, Albrecht Dürer are known to us mainly as the genius behind the most emotionally profound and technically dazzling paintings and drawings ever created by a human hand yet they are less known for the gorgeously brutal and intricately complex weaponry they each created for the most powerful courts of Europe. "For beauty is nothing but the beginning of terror which we are barely able to endure", wrote the poet Rilke. When high art is fashioned into instruments of war and death, truly one cannot imagine a more powerful force of destruction. These five lushly illustrated volumes are a rare and special read, with volume dedicated, respectively, to the weaponry of Da Vinci, Dürer, Piccinino, Holbein, and The Futurists of the early 20th century. Approximately 75 pages each, 11 in x 9 in. sleek black cloth covers with ivory and gold cover design, exquisitely illustrated pages printed on Fabriano paper.
$200.00 for the series. Please click here for more content description.
