Old Masters International is a counter-cultural magazine of connoisseurship written and edited in Milan and in Washington DC. Our focus is "the Rare and the Excellent” in art and aesthetics, wit and reason, manners and morals, voyage and exploration. Our creative director, born in Grosse Pointe Farms, was a long-time contributor to the Wall Street Journal Europe and the special counselor, as then called, to a princely art collecting family in Vienna as well as a featured speaker at Harvard University and The New York Yacht Club. Our editorial advisor is the former editor-in-chief of what was once Italy's most world-famous art magazine.
The most interesting people today are the high-minded Reactionaries; those who fight for the aristocracy of art and the distinctions of merit --for the cancellation of soi-disant 'cancel culture', if you will. Thus, our founding motto: “Old Masters are the New Modern”. Our primary editorial interest is that which has earned and will continue to earn the veneration of centuries.
Our schooling and professional experience has encompassed Washington DC, Milan, New York, Los Angeles, Cairo, Sofia, Athens-Istanbul, Switzerland, London, Vienna, Paris and Brussels and we seek to express values that magnify the 'spirit of place' and the splendors of civilization. Our aim is to conserve without conservatism, to advance in honor of the past.
Subscription price: $300.00 a year
Four issues and a special 'Grand Tour' travel issue.
"Fortunately, at the last hour, there were always a few knights around to save Civilization."
